This stainless steel hollow axle is rectified but not tempered, so its hardness and wear resistance is much less than a tempered or coated axle.
It is especially indicated on the front or rear axle because of its low weight but if you use it behind, in a brass bushing or similar, is very important to lubricate it generously to, logically, minimize the friction and wear.
